The Government of the Republic of Uganda and the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) have been working as partners since August 2001 to accelerate the development and testing of vaccines to prevent HIV/AIDS, with focus on vaccines for use in Uganda and elsewhere in Africa.
